Feeding guide

Feeding recommendation:
Applaws Kitten is a complete food for growing kittens as well as pregnant or nursing adult cats.

Kitten:
0 - 4 months: 20 - 55 g daily
4 - 6 months: 55 - 70 g daily
6 - 8 months: 70 - 75 g daily
8 - 14 months: 75 - 85 g daily

Get your kitten used to solid food from the 4th - 6th week. Soak in lukewarm water at first. Gradually reduce the amount of water. Please do not use milk. If your kitten is already accustomed to dry food, gradually adapt it within 4 days.
Your kitten's daily needs may vary based on their size, weight, and activity level!

Pregnant or lactating cat:
1.25 - 3 kg: 20 - 40 g daily
3 - 5 kg: 40 - 60 g daily
5 - 8 kg: 60 - 100 g daily

After four weeks of pregnancy gradually increase the feeding amount as indicated in the table. You should double the amount of food by the end of the 7th week. After the birth, slowly increase the amount of food so that the cat has as much food as necessary. You can switch back to Applaws dry cat food for adult cats approximately 5 weeks after birth.
Your cat's daily needs may vary depending on their size, weight and activity level!

One of few natural DRY cat foods
If you check the FIRST THREE ingredients from the list you will see- real meat was used. Dry food ain’t really needed for cats in my opinion but sometimes - why not. And if you need to find one that is actually made of real meat - this is it!

Tiny, tiny pieces!
Quality seems to have greatly improved since the 2021 recall (made in different factory now) but the pieces are very tiny - my 4-month-old Burmese kittens prefer something they can really crunch on!

Bengals!!!
As a Bengal Cat breeder I have found it nearly impossible to find a dry food option for this breed of cat that doesn’t cause huge digestive upset. My cats are raw fed and now thankfully have a dry food option that works beautifully. No nasty poops, love the dry ate it straight away without any fuss. I’m forever thankful to Applaws for making such a high quality grain free dry food. Thank you again BengalLegacyCats

Terrible!
We were doing a lot of research of the best possible dry food for our kitten. Applaws made it to the top. As it is usually out of stock here we decided to try to buy small pack from amazon and if we'd like it then buy 7.5kg here. Thats what we did and when we received 7.5kg it was so different from the one we got on amazon. Immediately my kitten wasnt eating that much and started to throw up. Maybe we got an old batch from amazon, before the ingredient change. Never again!

Such a shame not what it use to be
My kitten has always been on this hard food with a selection of their wet food had no problem GREAT... all of a sudden we struggled to get a the food and heard they where changing ingredients ever since then she's had really bad diarrhea, she was put on tablet and no luck we stopped her wet food and no luck and then I figured out soon as she ate hard food that's when it happened... soon as she eat it like liquid.... such a shame as she loved this food.

Horrible, never again
My cats have been having diarrhea every time after eating these biscuits. I did not realise and kept trying to find a cause until I came across some reviews here stating the same. I also read reviews for other flavours of this brand and it was the same. Cats having diarrhea and it seems when a bigger pack is purchased. i am getting rid of all Applaws products and switching to a better safer brand.

Top Kitten Food
My 7 months old kitten only eats this brand (and in addition some Schesir Kitten wet food): this dry food is great quality, she always eats it in full and thanks to the good ingredients she is growing healthy: full of energy, shiny fur, normal stools. I normally purchase the large 7kg bag and then transfer into sealed containers to keep it fresh: this way I manage to save a little as it is a bit pricier than supermarket brands. Definitely worth every penny.

its cat food
She eats it but she doesn't like it anymore than any of the other so-called cheap nasty dry foods. No noticeable changes in coat eyes behaviour. It says all the right things on the packaging but at the end of the day it's cat food and I'm not sure the price tag warrants me me to regularly buy this.

Pot Luck
My kitten had been used to this so I ordered some more, when it arrived I noticed it was a lot darker in colour which should have set alarm bells ringing. Instant diarrhea! so I contacted Applaws who informed due to seasonal variations in ingredients used the recipe can change slightly hence the upset stomachs. Not going to risk the smell or mess again

Applaws dry food
My kittens and mothers love these biscuits! Almost put 4* just as they are expensive for feeding a big litter of kittens but... it’s still worth investing in a good quality dry food to make sure they are getting a complete diet.

Excellent value
I chose this because the meat content is higher than any other I've seen for the price, and the protein sits at a more than reasonable 38% for growing kitties. Kibbles are small and uniform. I ordered the 2 economy bags and they are ENORMOUS. I'm not sure I'll ever need to order more kitten food again. The downside is that I was expecting them to be resealable like the tiny bags are but they're not so the bag must be meticulously taped up or use a bag resealer gadget.

High in protein and good for sensitive tummies
Our Scottish Straight kitten has a very sensitive tummy and not a great eater however after spending a fortune trying different dry foods, he seems happy with this one and his tummy is absolutely fine on the grain free. Zooplus offer great customer service and are very competitive on price - I won't shop anywhere else for my cats.

Gleaming Silky Coats
My 2 9mth Himalayan x girls love it. They were on some terrible whiskers biscuit with mum, I changed to this over 1mth and they have done really well but they do drink a lot and occasional loose poos. Due to Start trial of Orijen which is the expensive comparable, made with fresh not dry meat and less carbs to see if these final niggles subside. I still recommend this food as my girls coats are amazingly silky and they are very spritely. Will move back if no improvements.

Kittens love it
I chose this as it showed best grain-free dry food available for kittens with the right meat and fat content and all 3 of my 6-month old kittens love it.

My two come running.....
I’ve been feeding two feral kittens (since their mother brought them to me,) on applaws kitten food. They are doing really well on this, lovely shine to their coats. Wouldn’t feed anything else now! It loses a star because it’s not british chicken, which is a disappointment.

Excellent
My kittens who are now between 6-7 months old love this kibble. I have never thrown any away. Love getting the grain free stuff. I want to try and do the best for my boys.

Too good?
We adopted a kitten that started being sick as soon as he came home, at 10 weeks old. So we thought to try natural grain-free food to see if it was an intolerance to an ingredient that was causing the sickness. We swapped IAMS kitten for this and oh my days, the kittens LOVE it. And I say is it 'too good' because I used to leave a bowl of dry food out all day so if they were peckish they could dip in but this is almost all gone straight away!
